The museum in theSteintor is one of Western Pomerania'soldest museums.

It is housed in a 32m high redbrick Gothic gatehouse that is one the prettiest gates in Northern Germany.
A visit not to be missed.

In the rooms of the Steintor are town-historical exhibitionson 5 floors on show.It is one of the prettiest mundane brick buildings in Northern Germany Centre attraction is here the coin treasure from the time of the Thirty Years War, unearthed in 1996. The 3.000 coins and jewelry elements document the wealth of the former Hanseatic city. Well worth is a look from the gate in 30 metres height onto the city and Peene flats.
